What does participation involve?
We are seeking 18 to 25 year olds to evaluate ‘BlueWatch’. Participation in this research involves:
· Downloading a smartphone application (iPhone only and requires iOS 8 or later).
· Completing a 15-minute online survey to confirm your eligibility for the study.
· Participating in 12-weeks of intervention activities covering education and techniques to reduce depressive symptoms (such as addressing negative thoughts, breathing exercises to reduce stress, and other coping strategies to build resilience), as well as charting your mood progress across this period.
· Completing a 10-minute online survey 6 months later to see whether a reduction in your depressive symptoms is long-lasting.
Your involvement in the research will help you to develop invaluable skills to build resilience and positive mood, and also helps to establish the efficacy of our intervention. This ultimately leads to helping others by making the ‘BlueWatch’ smartphone app freely available for the general population in the future.
